Easy and Quick Cheese Buns















When I'm too lazy to make 'proper' bread using the kneading method, I resort to this cheese buns recipe. No kneading needed. Just mix everything using with a spoon. Less to wash up.
You can sprinkle other ingredients such as ham or sundried tomatoes on top of the dough before baking, but remember to top with more cheese, because the melting of the cheese prevents the ham and tomato from getting burnt.
(makes 12)

Ingredients:
■ 60ml warm water
■ 3.5 tsp instant yeast
■ 300g bread flour
■ 2 tsp sugar
■ 1.5 tsp salt
■ 125g grated cheddar cheese
■ 120ml milk, room temperature
■ 3 eggs
■ 125g butter, melted

Method:
  •  Mix water and yeast. Cover till it turns frothy.
  • Melt butter (use the microwave or the stove).
  •  Mix flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add 100g grated cheese (reserve the extra 25g for use later) and mix.
  •  Add yeast mixture, milk and eggs. Mix vigorously with a spoon.
  • Add butter. Mix till thoroughly combined.
  • Line regular-sized muffin tray with baking cases. Spoon dough into baking cases.
  • Cover and place in unheated oven for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Sprinkle cheese on dough. (Sprinkle more if you like it more cheesy.)
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes till golden brown.
